The twinning program consist of two phases:
Pre Clinical Years : Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan, Indonesia (3 years)
Clinical Years : AUCMS Campus, Penang, Malaysia (2 years)
Clinical years will be conducted through a network of teaching hospitals approved by Ministry Of Health (MOH), Malaysia:
  1. Hospital Tuanku Fauziah , Perlis
  2. Hospital langkawi , Kedah
  3. Hospital Kulim , Kedah
  4. Hospital Kepala Batas , Penang
  5. Hospital Baling , Kedah
  6. Hospital Taiping , Perak
Student will be selected for places in AUCMS on the basis of:
  • Performance at a structured interview which will be used to access English -
  • competency
  • communication skills
  • maturity
  • motivation
  • involvement in extra curricular activities
  • suitability for a medical career
Performance in the Selection Test handled by USU either in Penang or Kuala Lumpur.
March - June : Submit application to AUCMS
April - May : Interview
June : Selection Test
July : Result of Selection Test
August : Orientation & Registration
  • Foundation in Medical Studies (AUCMS) with minimum CGPA 3.00
  • STPM
  • Cambridge A-Level
  • Singapore GCE A-Level
  • Local Matriculation (MOE) with a minimum CGPA of 3.00
  • Diploma in Sciences (IPTA) with a minimum CGPA of 3.00
  • South Australia Matriculation (SAM) with minimum UA score 70%
  • Australia Matriculation (AUSMAT) with minimum score 70%
  • New South Wales Higher School Certificate (HSC) with minimum UA score 75%
  • Canadian Pre University with minimum score of 70% in Science Subjects
  • International Baccaulaurette Ontario (IBO) Canada  with minimum Band 6
  • Sekolah Menengah Umum , Indonesia  & all High Schools (except - Madsarah Aliyah or similar) with average score of 8.5 and above

Course assessments will be based on a combination of the following :

  • Student presentations
  • Multiple choice tests
  • Oral Examination
  • Clinical attendance and reports
  • Practical attendance and reports
  • E-Learning
Your assessments will be contribute towards your final examination results at the end of every year. Your final examinations for pre-clinical subjects will include easy papers, multimple choice tests, practical assessment and oral examinations.
