Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Appointed Chancellor Of AUCMS
KANGAR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- The Raja Puan Muda Perlis, Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil has been appointed as the Chancellor of Allianze University College of Medical Sciences (AUCMS).

The Raja Puan Muda was presented with her instrument of appointment at a ceremony witnessed by the Raja Muda Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, at Istana Arau here, last night.

AUCMS president Datuk Dr Zainuddin Wazir, when contacted by Bernama today, said the Raja Puan Muda's appointment as the first Chancellor of the institution was to recognise her contributionW towards its development over the past decade.

"The appointment is not subjected to a tenure and is a historical moment for the university college which has 3,000 students now," he added.

In conjunction with the appointment, Zainuddin said AUCMS, whose main campus is in Penang, has allocated RM50 million for partial and full scholarships as well as loans for its students.
