Behind The Scene (Part 1) - Convocation 2011
The first ever convocation ceremony of AUCMS is a mega event that was commisssioned by the President of Allianze University College of Medical Sciences in 2010. The Registrar, Encik Basir Elon is the person appointed to lead the convocation committee. Members of the committee comptises of staff members from various departments and division.There are 8 main portfolios in the committee including i) Invitation n registration ii) Program n Protocol iii) Finance iv) Entertainment v) Facilities n Equipment vi) Publicity n Promotion vii) IT, AV n Multimedia viii) Special Tasks. There are about 54 staff were directly involved in organizing the event. More than 40 hours spent in meetings while more than 100 hours spent in other preparation work.
Some of the preliminary work that was carried out was a trip to Universiti Malaysia Kelantan in search of the mace maker. The Registrar Encik Basir Elon as Chairman of the committee visited the university in Kota Bharu with Dato' Dr Jamjan Rajikan who was then the Director of Academic in charge of the ceremonial items for the convocation. Their mission is to find an expert in 'mace-making' to craft the ceremonial symbol of the university to be used in the AUCMS Convocation 2011.
