Its president, Datuk Dr Zainuddin Md Wazir, said the college was awaiting approval from the government to set up the faculties of sports science, medical business and management, hospitality and medical tourism, and traditional medicine.
The four new faculties would enable the college to increase its student intake up to 5,000, he said after launching a cultural and entrepreneurial fiesta of the college here yesterday.
AUCMS now has 2,500 students pursuing courses in fields such as pharmacy, nursing and physiotherapy.
Dr Zainuddin, who is a cardiologist, said all graduates of the college were gainfully employed, either at the college itself or at other medical centres nationwide.
"The AUCMS Hospital now under construction is expected to be ready next year, and will offer employment for our graduates as well," he said.
