The president of the Allianze University College of Medical Sciences (AUCMS), Datuk Dr Zainuddin Md Wazir, said with the upgrading, more diploma and degree programmes in medical and health sciences would be offered in future.
Thirty-three programmes of study at the certificate, diploma, degree and post-graduate levels would be offered after the upgrading compared with only six programmes currently.
Speaking to reporters after receiving the instrument of upgrading, he said infrastructure facilities for the teaching and learning process would also be given attention besides providing adequate and comfortable accommodation to the students.
The AUCMS, which was set up in 2002, now has 1,349 students and a teaching staff of 148.
