Weekend well spent!
Other people would probably have been busy handling wedding ceremonies or having difficulties in choosing which ‘kenduri’ to go to this holiday season, but as for the AUCMS staff, all of them were having a fun time during the Annual Bowling Competition 2010.
The event which took place at Megalane, Megamall Prai, began at 10.30am with 19 teams participating, including 5 teams from the sponsoring group such as The New Straits Times Press (NSTP), Utusan Melayu, CIMB Kepala Batas branch and NH Café.
Overall, the NSTP group won the competition followed by the AUCMS team led by its Maintenance Manager, Yusli Kasim.
“We did not plan any strategy, me and my team members were just playing for fun, maybe it’s just our luck,” he said.
He said that he frequently bowled and recently went for training at the same place just to get into the mood.
“I have purchased a second hand bowling ball for RM60 as I found out that the size of the bowling ball provided by Megalane does not match my thumb size which is smaller, therefore I prefer to use my own bowling ball and it was worth buying it!” he said.
Yusli had won three games with 471 pins downed.
Besides him, his team member, Sharifah Intan Izzati Syed Mahadi became the champion in the female category with 378 pin downed.
All together the team won a trophy, hamper, car wash voucher each, and also a steamboat coupon to be shared among them.
The project manager of the event, Khairal Afiq Jamal Abd Haziq said that they have succeeded in making this event a joyful one with the participation of the Media and the AUCMS family.
“It is good to have this kind of programmes as a continuously event for AUCMS so that we can build a good relationship with the media and also other organization as they are a part of our community,” he said.
This is the second time AUCMS has organized the bowling tournament among the staff.
