THE Allianze University College of Medical Sciences (AUCMS), which expects to get the university college status, will be the country's first private college to have its own hospital.
It will invest over RM100 million in the project, expected to be completed by end-2011, said chairman Datuk Dr Zainuddin Md Wazir.
The hospital, which will focus on heart and lung surgeries and cancer treatment, will have 200 beds initially and 1,000 later. It expects to generate 5,000 to 8,000 jobs.
To be built on five acres, it is part of AUCMS' master plan to establish an international medical hub in Kepala Batas, Penang.
