She received an award for the best actress last year where she played ‘Julia’ in the play called ‘Mencari Juwita’.
This year, Elvaria Edward has taken one step further and led her other theatre club members in a performance of ‘Kerusi’, at P. Ramlee House.
The more human characters in the play are led by ‘Putra’ , acted by Ahmad Adi Putra Ahmad Tajuddin, who is searching for his love ‘Massayu’ played by the delightful Nur Anissyuhada Samsudin.
In the end, Serisegala was defeated by the Tuta-tutas who whilst not-so-heroic still managed to beat the arrogant and cruel ruler. These creatures became the main attraction to the audience with their humor .
The main characters in the play were diploma students from School of Physiotherapy, School of Pharmacy and School of Medical Sciences.
The play saw how Elvaria was entrusted to tap into the symbolic message of the script and directed the play in the form of artistic expression. There were elements of comedy together with some dancing performances.
“A total number of 43 students participated and they had been working hard for the play since two months ago,” said advisors of Allianze University College of Medical Sciences (AUCMS) Theatre club, Mas Emilia Md Lazim and Harlinda Zakaria.
Both of them added by saying that they are grateful to the production crew for the success.
Harlinda said the show has attracted an audience close to 300. The high turn out has certainty showed there was a strong interest in arts and the theatre community.
