The Faculty Of Medical Hospitality, Tourism & Performing Arts (FMHTPA) is under the leadership of Dato' Wah Idris the Extraordinaire International Composer, Musician, Entrepreneur, Creative Director as the dean. A motivator with inspiring spirits and draws a large number of services that includes consultation, song and music recording and composing.
Dato’ Wah Idris -The Man Himself (Adjunct Professor Faculty of Human Ecology - UPM's Music Department) He received his early education in Ipoh, Perak and subsequently went to do a double degree with honors in Jazz Composition and Jazz Arranging at the Berkley College of Music, Boston USA. He was the Music Director for the 1st International Jazz Festival in Kuala Lumpur and the Champion of the Golden Kite World Song Festival in 1986. He was the Music Advisor to Kuala Lumpur City Hall in early 90's. In the 1990's, he was the Music Advisor to the Ministry of Tourism and he also composed and produced scores for jingles and corporate songs for various organizations and government ministries. He was the Music Director and Producer for the World Corporate Games under the Youth and Sports Ministry. He was Music Director, Artiste and Musician for Benson & Hedges Light Tones and Musical Director/Composer for the 1998 Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games of the theme song "Standing in the Eyes of the World".
Dato’ Wah Idris is set to take AUCMS to greater heights through his leadership in the faculty. Soon new Diploma's program will be offered such as Diploma in Tourism, Diploma In Music, Diploma In Performing Arts, Diploma In Hospitality Studies and many more.
We, currently provides various Performing Arts - Co Curriculum Programs such as Dance, Theatre, Choir, Gamelan, Singing and Playing an Instrument. The FMHTPA at AUCMS have focused, comprehensive curriculum, complemented by creative teaching and learning techniques. Students are exposed to a variety of learning methods including practical and real life experiences.
